Add Numbers expands the current board
Add Numbers is a limited Stage action that copies the active numbers still on the board and appends those copies after the existing layout. It is not a shuffle, a refill and not a replacement for matching.
The action matters because it preserves the current board while adding more values to its end. That creates new pair candidates and new geometry, but it can also make the board longer.
Which numbers are copied?
Only currently active numbers are copied. Values that have already been removed are not recreated merely because their old holes still exist in the layout.
The copies follow the active cells in their current logical board order. The operation is deterministic: the same board state produces the same appended value sequence.
Where do the copies go?
The copied values are appended immediately after the final existing layout cell.
If the final row is only partly filled, the new values continue from the next logical position. If that row reaches the ninth column, later copies continue onto the next row.
Old holes stay where they are
Add Numbers does not move existing active cells into earlier gaps. Holes created by previous matches stay in place inside partially occupied rows.
That distinction is important because the board after Add contains both the old geometry and a new appended tail. The action expands the position rather than compacting it.
Add does not reshuffle values
The existing active cells keep their positions. The appended copies preserve the source values and their logical order.
So Add Numbers does not randomize the board and does not search for a more favorable arrangement. Its consequences come from a predictable extension of the current state.
The resource belongs to the Stage
Using Add Numbers consumes one Add use from the current Stage. The allowance is finite and resets when a new Stage begins.
The exact amount available is content and balance data for that Stage. The important rule for solving is that Add is a resource, not an unlimited action.
You can Add even when a match exists
Veyra Play does not require the board to be out of matches before Add Numbers becomes legal. You may choose to use it while ordinary legal pairs are still available.
That makes Add timing a strategy decision. The engine decides whether Add is available; the player decides whether expanding the board now is useful.
What changes after Add?
After the copies are appended, the board should be treated as a new position. The added values may create:
- new equal-number candidates;
- new pairs that total 10;
- new horizontal or row-wrap relationships near the appended tail;
- longer-term vertical or diagonal relationships as later removals and row collapses change the board.
The useful habit is the same as after a match: re-scan rather than assuming you already know the available pairs.
When should a beginner use Add?
A safe beginner default is to first inspect the ordinary legal pairs already available. Removing useful pairs can open holes or clear rows without increasing the amount of active material.
If the position has no useful continuation, or if you have a deliberate reason to create more candidates, Add can expand the search space. This is a heuristic rather than a legality rule: the game allows Add earlier as well.
